Broadway’s blockbuster musical The Lion King has stampeded into Pittsburgh. Before you take in the Tony-winning show at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, get a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s award-winning sets and puppetry. Bill Kimbley, the head carpenter for the national tour, took the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on a backstage tour of The Lion King for an exclusive look at Pride Rock. The home of Simba and his pride, which wheels onto the stage via remote control, weighs 8,000 pounds and measures over 14 feet long and over 10 feet tall!
